Lancaster

  • Worked to designate Lancaster as one of the state’s first official “Green Communities”.
  • Obtained funding for the creation of a business incubator located off of Lunenburg Road in Lancaster that promotes business and job development in the town and throughout the district. 
  • Has secured over $8 million in state aid for the Nashoba Regional School District.
  • Fought for effective legislation, such as the Economic Development Act that aims to create jobs and invest in the community, ultimately resulting in a significantly lowered the unemployment rate below the state average to 5.2%.
  • Delivered state funding for the expansion of programs and recreational development of the Nathaniel Thayer Memorial Park.
  • Successfully advocated for appropriated funds for the design, engineering, and renovation of the Lancaster Prescott Building.
  • Secured state resources for the Johnny Appleseed Visitor’s Center.
  • Fought for grant monies to assist in the reconstruction of the Lancaster Sewer Project.
  • Annually secures state compensation to the town for hosting two correctional facilities, including a 2014 reimbursement of approximately $70,000.
  • Secured $750,000.00 for a new sewer grant extension for north Lancaster, creating 37 new jobs right here at home and the potential for more commercial expansion.
  • THE McNAMARA BILL- the first ever legislation providing death benefits for call/volunteer firefighters;
  • Negotiated and procured funding for the removal of an underground storage tank from the Town Green.
  • Helped secure 157.4 acres in Lancaster to be added to the Bolton Flats Wildlife Management Area, ensuring critical lands and habitats of rare and endangered wildlife will be preserved and protected for future generations.
